THE Islamic Development Bank in Co-ordination with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA-Canada), also in pursuance of its policy of helping students belonging to Muslim communities throughout the world, is pleased to announce a scholarship program. This program is only for first year students at the University level belonging to the Muslim community in Canada for the year 2010 – 2011. The program is for a study in a recognized University/College for Undergraduate Degree in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Sciences, Engineering, Biology, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Food Technology, Computer Sciences and Communications. Applicants from the fields of Journalism, Broadcasting, Law, Social Work, Psychology etc., may also be considered. The number and amount of scholarships for the year 2010- 2011 will be announced later on.
The selected students will be given a yearly stipend of a maximum of $7,000. This amount is to cover part or whole of the yearly expenses for clothing, books, tuition, and treatment in a government or university hospital and other related expenses. The scholarship program is for the academically strong but financially weak students who are enrolled or accepted at a Canadian university in the above-mentioned fields for the 2010 – 2011 sessions. The deadline for receiving the application is June 30th, 2010.
