TORONTO: The South Asian community in Toronto is composed of people of best intellectual, literary and lively class. With the excellent quality of social and cultural activities and performances taking place throughout the year, Toronto has gained the reputation and status of one of the best centers of excellence of entertainment class in the world.
No doubt about it. Time and again it has been proven. On December 15, 2007, a Mazahiya Mushaira (hilarious and satirical) was organized at the Mississauga Auditorium. Even the worst storm on that day, which halted life in the city due to bad and dangerous condition of the roads and poor visibility, could not stop the lovers of Urdu Mushaira. The hall was full and the audience enjoyed the wonderful performance, many with tears in the eyes due to non-stop laughter.
India’s renowned satirical poet Ghouse Khawma Khaw was the chief guest and performer. Keeping in view the great public demand for another performance by this distinguished personality, he is being specially invited to entertain the people.
Ghouse Khawma Khaw will be chief guest on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Mazahiya Mushaira being organized at the auditorium of Don Bosco Secondary School. It is located at 2 Saint Andrews Road (401/South of Islington. Over 600 people are expected to attend. Ticket is $15 per head. It will start at 6 p.m. and continue till midnight. Laughter guaranteed.
North America’s renowned poets Jamal Zuberi, Rehman Khawar and many other local satirical poets will entertain the crowd and will make them bend with laughter. This will be the last show of Ghouse Khawma Khaw, before the poet’s return to India.
Like before, Big Screen arrangements have been made to provide the audience the best view and entertainment.
