THE Islamic Broadcasting Network - an arm of the Islamic Media Foundation - has just launched a new show titled "ISSUES & ANSWERS (from an Islamic Perspective)." The show will air each Friday at 8:30 pm out of Sterling, Virginia. Those who reside outside of the area can access the show via: www.ibn.net . (If you miss a show as it airs, you should be able to go to the archives and pull it up, insha'Allah.)
The show will be hosted by Mauri' Saalakhan, a human rights activist.
The invited guest for the inaugural show will be Imam Siraj Wahhaj of Masjid At-Taqwa (Brooklyn, NY); the Amir of the Muslim Alliance of North America (MANA). The first 45 minute discussion will be revolved around MANA's upcoming First Annual Conference, "The State of the Black American Muslim Community: Assessment and Analysis for an Achievable Agenda."
The three day MANA conference, scheduled for the Philadelphia Convention Center on November 2-4, will begin with a Jummah address (delivered by Imam Siraj). Among the speakers will be W. Deen Mohammed, Zaid Shakir, Sherman Hakim Jackson, Aminah McCloud, Laila Muhammad, Asim Abdur-Rashid, Qasim Ahmad, Faheem Shuaib, Talib Abdur-Rashid, Altaf Hussain, Amir Al-Islam, Ihsan Bagby, Anwar Muhaimin, Johari Abdul Malik Aneesah Nadir, Rami Nashashibi and others.
