AFGHAN President Hamid Karzai says his country is fed up with raids by 'Pakistani militants', vowing to attack their hideouts in Pakistan.
"Afghanistan has the right to destroy terrorist nests on the other side of the border in self-defense," the President said at a news conference in Kabul on Sunday.
"When they cross the border from Pakistan to come and to kill Afghans and coalition troops it exactly gives us the right to go back and do the same," Karzai added.
He also warned Pakistan-based Taliban leaders, Baitullah Mehsud and Mullah Omar that Afghan forces would target them on their home turf.
"Baitullah Mehsud should know that we will go after him now and hit him in his house,'' Karzai said, adding that "And the other fellow, Mullah Omar of Pakistan should know the same.''
Karzai had never said he would send Afghan troops across the border.
The remarks came after 11 Pakistani soldiers were killed in a US air raid in Pakistan, a move that sparked outrage inside the country and further strained ties between the two neighboring countries.
