Jewish Voice for Peace

THE only USA national Jewish peace organization provides a powerful voice for the countless Jewish Americans who believe that a lasting peace in the Middle East can only come through justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.  Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) believes that this voice is a dynamic force necessary for changing USA foreign policy.  JVP offers a solution based on universal human rights and fairness for all involved.  With a small staff, 20,000 internet activists, and an increasing number of volunteers, JVP mobilizes to amplify a Jewish voice of justice and compassion in support of fair policies in the Middle East and fights efforts to silence sensible debates about US-Israeli/Palestinian policy.

In the past, JVP led a successful global campaign to defend Archbishop Tutu’s right to speak, and it helped clear him of false charges in the Jewish press, which had claimed that he had compared Israel to Hitler.  JVP supported the Presbyterian Church when the church decided to divest from companies profiting from the occupation.  JVP defended New England’s largest mosque from an organized smear campaign led by a pro-occupation organization.  JVP was the leading Jewish group that helped expose the role played in the occupation by the Caterpillar company that sold bulldozers to Israel for the purpose of destroying Palestinian homes and lives.
