German foreign ministry sources have called meeting between German FM and Iran's top nuclear negotiators as 'constructive and very open'.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier met Iran's outgoing chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, and his successor, Saied Jalili, late Thursday in Hamburg to discuss Tehran's uranium-enrichment program.

According to Foreign Ministry sources, Steinmeier called on Iran to cooperate with European Union foreign policy head Javier Solana and the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to resolve the crisis.

The Iranian officials who had earlier held talks with Solana in Rome had requested for the meeting to take place.

Solana had also described the nuclear talks between Iran and the EU in Rome as 'constructive'.

Ali Larijani also told a news conference that Iranian officials and the European Union have agreed there could be further nuclear talks by the end of November.
