SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed serious concern over the disappearance of an ancient copy of the Holy Quran from Srinagar Museum.
In a statement in Srinagar, the Hurriyat leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan termed it as an attempt of cultural aggression against Kashmiris by the government of India.
“This rare copy of Holy Quran had remained preserved with Kashmiris for centuries together. It has been misplaced under a deep-rooted conspiracy,” Nayeem said adding that the Indian troops were renaming different villages and areas to promote Hindutva thereby perpetrating cultural aggression in the occupied territory.
He also expressed serious concern over the assault on Kashmiri traders in Indian state of Kerala, terming it highly condemnable. He further said that Kashmiris were unsafe in every corner of India as they are being harassed without any reason.
Meanwhile, a delegation of APHC’s constituent, Awami Action Committee, distributed cash relief of Rs40, 000 besides bedding, blankets and other material among the fire victims of Kalsi and Tuleel in Gurez area, whose houses were recently gutted in a devastating fire.
